Join MOCA and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) for an immigrant rights teach-in for Asian American youth, affected individuals, and allies. Facilitated by Alina Shen (MOCA) and Stephanie Park (AALDEF), this teach-in will provide a safe space for young organizers, activists, and teens to give voice to their experiences and explore ways to effect change in the immigrant rights movement. The program will be centered on immigrant rights, with an emphasis on rights for undocumented immigrants.
Together, youth will consider critical questions such as:
As an immigrant history museum, MOCA will provide a safe space for young people and affected individuals to generate discussion with their peers. MOCA and AALDEF will offer historical context on Asian American organizing and advocacy for an event that attempts to read history for ways that young people can create change today and in the future.
