  The Chinese Adoptee Alliance invites you to a special virtual event featuring Dr. Jean Kim, renowned researcher, educator, and the visionary behind the Asian American Identity Development Model.

  As a Korean adoptee who immigrated to the United States at the age of 12, Dr. Kim has dedicated her career to exploring identity development, fostering diversity, and empowering others to embrace their unique journeys. Through her groundbreaking model, she offers insights into the complex phases of identity formation, making her a guiding voice for the Asian American community navigating their personal stories.

  About Dr. Jean Kim 

    

  Dr. Jean Kim is an Executive Search Consultant at AGB Search, bringing over 37 years of experience in higher education administration, with leadership roles in student affairs and enrollment management at both private and public institutions, including Stanford University and the University of Colorado Boulder. She has taught sociology, ethnic studies, leadership, and counseling courses as an adjunct faculty member at several universities. Dr. Kim is dedicated to enhancing diversity and inclusion in higher education and has also worked as a diversity and organizational development consultant for Fortune 500 companies. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Sociology and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Born in South Korea, Dr. Kim immigrated to the United States alone at age 12 when she was adopted by her American stepfather.

  CAA Marches in the Manhattan Lunar New Year Parade

  to celebrate the Year of the Snake!

  As per tradition, CAA will be marching in the annual LNY parade Sunday, February 16, 2025. We will be hosting a pre-parade celebration with OCA at PS 130 in Chinatown for our community starting at 10:30 am with food, speakers, and activities and then heading out to march around 12 pm!

  When: Sunday February 16 at 10:30pm

  Where: Meet up for Preparty at PS 130 Hernando De Soto, 143 Baxter St, New York, NY.
