On Sunday, October 2nd, 2016, OCA-NY, along with 19 other organizations will co-sponsor a free public commemoration of the 5th Anniversary of the Death of Private Danny Chen at P.S. 130 (where Danny went to school) from 2:00 p.m. -3:15 p.m. with a march to the street sign "Private Danny Chen Way" immediately following the program (see below).
As you know, OCA-NY has been a lead advocacy organization on this case since its inception. Often compared to the "Vincent Chin" case of the 2000's, it is critical that the public and the military do not forget what happened to Danny. And given the recent news of Marine Recruit Raheel Siddiqui's death due to hazing, it is important to remind the public and the Military of Danny's death and probe if these if these incidents are still happening and why. Please come out and show your support to send a strong message that all soldiers who serve our country must be treated with dignity and respect.
Public Commemoration and March; Sunday October 2, 2016 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. P.S. 130 Auditorium, 143 Baxter Street, Manhattan, Chinatown. Free program followed by march to the street sign, "Private Danny Chen Way" at the corner of Canal and Elizabeth Streets
