FCC Makes Pillows for Paws
Tween/Teen/YA and Parent Service Event
Join us in a volunteer day with Pillows for Paws, an organization whose mission is to provide comfort and love to animals in NYC shelters. We will sew beds and create cat, dog and rabbit toys.
When: Saturday, December 8, 1 – 4 p.m.
Where: The Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 155 East 22nd Street NYC, NY 10010
From the organization’s website: Homeless animals are usually beyond frightened when they come into a shelter environment since most have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Pillows for Paws believes that their emotional well-being is a crucial factor in maintaining an animal's overall health, assisting in modifying behavioral issues and as a result, increasing their adoptability. Our mission is to help support a positive environment during their stay at the shelter. Comfort and enrichment items, such as a cozy bed to sleep on or a toy to keep them stimulated in their cages while they wait for their forever homes, bring them a sense of ease, calm and hopefully, a knowing that they are loved and not forgotten.
There is no charge for the event, but please register below so we know how many volunteers to expect.
Kids (12 and up, please come with an adult if under 18)
Young Adults 18 and up
Parents/Other Adults
As per their guidelines, this is a human only event. As much as we love them, please don't bring your companion animals.
Please consider bringing needed supplies; consult http://a.co/6Asgftn for a list.
After the event we can go for pizza and/or ice cream if interest!
